Hi Mario,

What happen to those beautifull fish. Did you get lucky with a spawn?

I like the Super Red Melon and I don't know what is the result in a cross with a San Merah. The one you show on the pic is it comming right from Mr. San?

Here is a pic of my Super Red Melon x Mandarin passion. No pics can do justice to the burning Red this fish have when look right up front.

Mario,  Keep us informed of how those two fish do; hopefully they will become better parents soon.

Hi Mario,

Keep the faith, you also need to develop a thicker skin if you continue to post on this site.

Hope this pair gets it right for you.

Those marking are more common than you think.  They appear on some of my BD's,Melons and Santrems.  It's NOT associated with the SM's.

Nanik,
I don't think those spots are the trade mark of the San Merah's.

Hi mario,

The reason why I asked whether it is the "trademark" (sorry if the teminology is not correct) of San Merah because I've seen San Merah in a number of breeders place in my country and all of them have got the same marking on their fin,any idea how those 'dots' come into existence.

Thanks

Hi,

I saw something interesting in the photo. I've marked the part of the fin that I saw quit interesting, is this like the 'trademark' of San Merah ?

Thanks

Nanik,
It all depends on how many times you feed your discus on a daily basis, what kind of food and what kind of filtration system you have for your fish tank.
On the average basis a daily 50 % water change, 5 to 6 times a day for the young discus adult 3 times a day and just feed enough whatever the fish can consume in about 10 minutes.
Feed the following food:
Tetra bits
Hikari bio-pure frozen blood worms
Omega one cichlid flakes
My own burger mixture which consist of shrimp, fish meat, spirulina powder, round eye beef, vitamin B and C.

Do you mind telling me what is your routine like growing this discus from 2" to what it is now, things like food, water changes, etc

I hope one day I can raise mine from their current 3" till they can breed Grin Grin

Sorry for the very novice question Grin Grin Grin Grin

Those discus didn't cost me that much but they were imported when they were 2", just saving the best of the lot for breeding.

Mario,

How long did it takes you to raise them from 2" to the current size ?

Thanks

It seems like nothing is happening with the San Merah X Super Red Melon.
I do have another pair that have wigglers on the cone, it is an intermediate San Merah X Mandarin Red Passion. Wigglers on the cone.

SemilionNoah,
Take a guess who is the pompous ass, If you don't have anything meaningful to say don't say it, I don't need any opinion or advice from you.

I haven't posted on this thread but I have admired that pair, wondering how the *%$# did you get your hands on such beautiful fish! Smiley  Okay, having said that my two cents says that you don't need 80 champion discus to win the show, just one!

Well Dan what was so aweful about my post regarding the spawn in question? With the recent developements I can understand the responses from brew3, But it was not my fault if he was misinformed. I do apologize if he took it as an hostile response. It wasn't meant to be as one.
But If you ask me, with the kinda of responses he posts, I would categorize him as one pompous ass. So take it as you will, makeup your own fantasies. It still dosen't change what that spawn will produce, and sorry for the loss brew3. Hope the next one makes it.

There's always that old saying "If you nothing good to say, say nothing at all"

Unless Noah has some underlying issues with brew3.

Steve,
I do feel fine, some people do get jealous for being kicked out and wants to stir up shit on this forum. If I was him I would be too embarrassed to show my face in this forum.

I think you have mistaken me for someone else I have never been kicked out of here - not yet atleast. the last thing I would be jealous is about something so silly as this. Good Luck with the spawn, like I said if you get anything different I am all ears.  Shocked

Hi guys,
The spawn hatched and approx. 40 to 50 wigglers, that's not bad for the first time and see what happens.
